Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the QRLens application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

Use of Service

QRLens is a QR code scanner and generator tool designed for creating, scanning, and managing QR codes. You agree to use the Service solely for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not interrupt, damage, impair, or otherwise adversely affect the Service or any third-party applications. This includes refraining from any misuse, such as generating QR codes with malicious content (e.g., malware, phishing links) or excessive automated actions.

Account Registration

To access certain features of QRLens, you must create an account using either email/password or Google Sign-In. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

Passwords must be 6-21 characters and include uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters for security.

In-App Purchases and Credits

QRLens offers in-app purchases including ad removal and credits for premium features. All purchases are processed through Google Play Billing and are subject to Google Play's terms. Credits and premium status are synced to your account and may be used across devices when logged in. Refund requests must be submitted through Google Play.

Permissions and Risks

To operate effectively, the Service requires certain permissions, including Camera, Storage, Internet, Wi-Fi, and Notification access. By granting these permissions, you acknowledge and accept associated risks, such as potential exposure to unsafe QR content or temporary device performance impacts during scans. QRLens does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation and disclaims any responsibility for issues arising from the use of these permissions or the Service itself.

Data and Privacy

All core QR processing occurs on your device, with limited cloud syncing for accounts and purchases via Firebase. For detailed information on data handling, storage practices, and your rights, please refer to our Privacy Policy. You are solely responsible for managing any stored data (e.g., QR history) and ensuring compliance with all applicable privacy laws and regulations.

Advertising

The free version of QRLens displays advertisements through Google AdMob, including banner ads and rewarded video ads. You may remove ads by purchasing the ad-free upgrade. Ad content is provided by third-party networks and we do not control the specific advertisements displayed.

No Warranty

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without any warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. QRLens disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, QRLens, its developers, directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to:

  • Your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service;
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on or through the Service;
  • Any content obtained from the Service, including QR codes scanned from external sources;
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service, if any.

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for legitimate purposes, such as scanning and generating QR codes.
  • Refrain from using the Service to distribute harmful, illegal, or malicious content.
  • Ensure your device meets the necessary Android system requirements (Android 8.0+) for optimal functionality.
  • Regularly back up important data on your device.
  • Exercise caution when scanning QR codes from unknown sources.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to breaches of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may delete your account at any time through Settings, Account, Delete Account.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will update these Terms and revise the "Last Updated" date. Changes will be communicated within the app via push notification or in-app dialog. Your continued use of the Service following such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the primary developer resides, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
