Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Shift Tracker (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Shift Tracker is an Android application for logging work shifts, tracking hours, and estimating earnings. Features include shift logging with breaks, notes, and tags; recording payments received against your shifts; optional per-shift fields for tips, expenses, mileage, sales, and holiday flag; multi-job pay rules (deduction percent, multi-tier daily and weekly overtime, double-time, holiday pay, wage-rise history, paid-breaks toggle, mileage reimbursement, sales commission, and rounding rules for hours and earnings); per-job and standalone reminders; an active-shift foreground timer with quick actions; CSV and PDF export with optional invoice branding; and an optional Google Drive backup of your data to a private app folder.

The Service is supported by banner ads served through Google AdMob. Shift Tracker Pro — offered as a one-time “Remove Ads” purchase or a one-time “Lifetime” purchase, both through Google Play Billing — removes ads and/or unlocks additional features. See “Advertising” and “Purchases” below.

Eligibility and Lawful Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and only to track your own work. Shift Tracker is a personal record-keeping tool; it is not a system of record for payroll, tax filings, or legal compliance.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except where such activity is expressly permitted by law
• Redistribute modified builds that misrepresent Shift Tracker or compromise security or privacy
• Interfere with the integrity of the Service, including its backup, advertising, purchase, or notification flows
• Use the Service to violate the rights of any third party

Permissions and User Acknowledgment

Some features require Android permissions (notifications, exact alarms, boot completed, internet for backup/ads/purchases, the advertising ID used by Google AdMob, and a special-use foreground service for the active shift timer). By granting these permissions, you acknowledge that:

• Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally by your device
• A persistent notification may be shown while a shift is active
• Foreground services and exact alarms may affect battery usage
• Ads may use your device’s advertising ID for delivery, personalization, and measurement, subject to Google’s own policies and terms
• OEM and Android restrictions may limit reminder delivery on some devices

You are responsible for granting and revoking these permissions in Android Settings.

Your Data

All shift, payment, job, and settings data is stored locally on your device in the app’s private storage. You can delete individual records, clear app data in Android Settings, or uninstall the app to remove your data at any time. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Google Drive Backup (Optional)

If you choose to enable backup, you authorize the app to use Google Sign-In and the Google Drive drive.appdata scope to upload a single JSON backup file to a hidden folder reserved for Shift Tracker inside your own Google Drive. The app cannot access any other files in your Drive. Backup is governed additionally by Google’s terms and privacy policy. You may disable backup, sign out, or delete the file from your Google account at any time.

Advertising

Unless you’ve purchased Remove Ads or Lifetime, the Service displays banner ads served by Google AdMob. Ad delivery, personalization, and measurement are governed by Google’s own policies and terms, including Google’s advertising and EU user consent policies. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements shown through this service.

Purchases (Shift Tracker Pro)

Shift Tracker offers two one-time, non-subscription purchases via Google Play Billing:

• Remove Ads — removes banner ads from the app.
• Lifetime — removes ads and unlocks unlimited jobs, quick shifts, and reminders, plus branded PDF invoice export, for as long as you use the app.

Purchases are billed, and refunds are handled, entirely by Google Play under Google Play’s own terms and refund policy. We do not process payments or store payment information ourselves. Purchases are tied to the Google account that made them and do not transfer between Google accounts.

No Account, No Server

Shift Tracker does not operate a server, does not require an account, and does not transmit your shift, payment, or job data to any service operated by us. Drive backup, ad serving, and purchase processing, when applicable, communicate directly with Google.

Intellectual Property

Shift Tracker, including its code, design, branding, and content (except third-party licensed components), is owned by moalduhun or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.

License Grant

Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Shift Tracker for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control.

No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AVAILABILITY, OR ERROR-FREE PERFORMANCE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OF EARNINGS ESTIMATES, REMINDER DELIVERY, BACKUP COMPLETENESS, OR THE AVAILABILITY OR CONTENT OF THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISEMENTS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHIFT TRACKER, THE DEVELOPER, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, WAGES, BUSINESS, OR DEVICE PERFORMANCE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO USE OF THE SERVICE.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shift Tracker and its developer from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

Suspension, Termination, and Discontinuation

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app and revoking any granted permissions. We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or limit the Service at any time, including to comply with legal or platform requirements.

Updates and Changes

Features may be added, changed, or removed without prior notice. We may update these Terms; material changes may be surfaced in-app or on this page. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of the primary developer’s residence, excluding conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Shift Tracker regarding use of the Service.
